Following refusal of an outline planning application in August 2022 for 5 self-build dwellings on land off Marston Lane, Frome, an appeal against the Council’s decision has been raised. In response to the reasons for refusal, LVA consider that technical issues such as access, loss of hedgerow and landscape and residential amenity impact are not justified, and that the proposed scheme can provide a range of benefits including the provision of self-build units to help address the Council’s statutory obligation to grant sufficient development permissions to meet the demand for self-build and custom housebuilding.
